Acupuncture originated in ancient China many centuries ago. Along with Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture is presently one of the world's main disciplines of primary medical care; serving more than one fourth of the world's population. It is a very precise method of balancing, regulating and strengthening the life force of the human body; called Qi (pronounced chee).
Your first appointment will last 1-1.5 hours. It will include a general health history, a Chinese physical exam, and a discussion about your understanding of how your body works. During this initial visit, needle treatment may or may not be performed. Subsequent visits will last from 30-45 minutes.
Treatments are always tailored to the needs of the individual patient. Treatments are actually quite relaxing. Patients leave feeling nourished and rejuvenated.
